Still At It

Thursday, May 16, 2013 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

I have alway tried to make time for excercise, no matter how busy life was. Now that I am a father to 2 young children, finding time for excercise has become increasingly difficult. It's not just a matter of setting aside the time, but also finding the energy to crawl out of bed at the crack of dawn to get a workout in before anyone wakes up. While this can certainly be challenging, I wouldn't have it any other way, as excerise is a fundamental and essential part of my life. I plan to keep at it full steam and can't wait until my kids can join me on the treadmill and elliptical! R.

Cheaper at Home

Thursday, May 16, 2013 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

Was working out at a club and with a new family it was easier to work out at home then the club.

So back in 2001, I purchased a Life Fitness 3Xi on the way to my parents before Thanksgiving dinner.

Still love it today.

Still Going Strong

Tuesday, February 5, 2013 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

I don't think there has been a week that has gone by that I haven't used my treadmill (unless I was out of town or sick!). My husband gave it to me as a gift in 1997, and I've never had any problems with it or had it serviced -- pretty impressive! I like the option of walking or running in my basement if the weather is inclement, or I just don't want to take the time and effort of going to the health club. We also have a Life Fitness bike which is even older and still going strong! Thank you, Life Fitness, for your quality equipment!

Addicted to My X9i

Friday, February 1, 2013 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

My fitness journey began in March of 2006. At the time I weighed 230 pounds. I lacked energy, and was really beginning to feel the effects of carrying around all the extra tonnage. After making a decision to loose some weight, I decided to purchase a quality piece of exercise equipment: the Life Fitness X9i Cross-Trainer.

It took a couple of years, but I was able to shed 50 pounds---and keep it off! I now run 35 minutes a day, six or seven times a week. My X9i and a healthy diet keep me feeling great.

Stress Release

Friday, January 25, 2013 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

Have always been very active, and exercising is a huge stress relief for me. Unfortunately, knee problems have prevented me from running for the past 5 years. This Life Fitness bike has helped keep me sane (on a relative basis, at least).

Early Morning Gets the Blood Flowing!

Wednesday, December 26, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

For me, a cardio work out is the way that I get the blood flowing. Hopping on my elliptical or my Life Fitness bike, even when I'm bleary-eyed and dragging, always yields benefits throughout the rest of the day---I'm more alert, energized. Plus, I can partake of the great joy of eating more of what I really want to eat (as opposed to only eating what I SHOULD eat). Working out is part of the balanced lifestyle that I strike to achieve.

Keeps Me on Track

Tuesday, December 18, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

Owning a treadmill and elliptical in our home has been the reason that I am able to be consistent with exercise. I don't have time to go to the gym to work out but can always balance my schedule to make time in my home. Over the last few years I have exercised in the morning, late evening and times in between according to what else was going on in my life. The Life Fitness elliptical has served me well as it has required no special maintenance to keep it running smoothly. Great investment, highly recommend the product and don't know what I would do without it.

Elliptical Changed My Life

Thursday, December 13, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

Using the Life Fitness X1 has changed my life. I've lost 10 pounds - and kept it off - by making the X1 the main component of my workout regimen. I also lift weights and do some running, but the 2000 miles I've put on the X1 in the last 22 months have been the focal point. It makes it easier to work out in the cold Chicago winters. I'm looking forward to the next 2000 miles on the X1.

Right Weight and Energetic

Saturday, December 8, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

The Lifecycle has become a regular part of my life.
In the past I could easily talk myself out of going to the gym. With the Life Fitness Elliptical X7 at home I can easily get some, easy on the knees, weight bearing exercise. I mix it up with a bit of free weights and mat work. This has helped me maintain my weight and strength. I love that it is actually improving my arm strength. At one point it seemed like there was nothing I could do to keep from gaining weight. Now after dropping 55 pounds, I am maintaining a good weight and feeling energetic. This is especially great during the winter months. I just crank up the music or watch a prerecorded program on TV. Retired and in my 60’s I do not want to slow down. When the weather permits, I am biking the local rolling hills or taking a hike.

Easy on Knees

Friday, December 7, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

My wife and I have exercised all of our adult lives, but gave up running when we turned 50 due to wear and tear on our knees, feet, etc. We had an old exercise bike and cross country ski-type machine but needed something we both would enjoy and thus use. The Life Fitness Elliptical Cross Trainer has been everything we hoped for and more. We have a high quality home theater system in place and the combination makes us look forward to our exercise sessions. We've put over 3800 miles on the elliptical in less than 4 years, so obviously we like it. When our children and spouses visit they all use it too. It is honestly one of the best purchases we have ever made. Best of all it is easy on our knees!

Future Grandpa

Thursday, December 6, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

In December of 2011, I found myself being terribly out of shape. At that time I was weighing in at 340lbs. I wasn't sleeping well, I was snoring very heavily and I would get out of breath very quickly. So, one day in December 2011 after having a long talk with my then 17 year old son, who by the way thinks his Mother and I will live forever, I decided that me being around for sometime would require for some lifestyle changes. So, I decided to order a Life Fitness bike. It's now Thanksgiving day 2012 and I'm down to 265lbs. I have rode my bike 1744 miles since receiving it back in January 2012. I'm healthier, I'm sleeping better and looking forward to 1 day being a Grandpa to my future grandchild.

Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle!

Wednesday, December 5, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

We bought the Life Fitness X9i because as we were getting older the impact of the treadmill was hard on our joints. The very low impact of the X9i allows us to continue to maintain a healthy cardio-vascular lifestyle while also limiting the impact on our joints. Nothing better than 30 minutes on the elliptical and then 15 minutes in the hot tub even in the middle of winter. Having the equipment in the home, gives us the flexibility to use it any time day or night which also guarantees more usage and better weight control and a healthy heart.

Staying in Shape

Tuesday, December 4, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

I purchased my Life Fitness exercise bicycle to suplement my outdoor bicycle riding during the cooler weather months when the sun rises late.
I have been an avid road bicycler since the late 1970's and over the years have used different types of indoor trainers. None have worked and held my interest over the long period to my satisfaction. During the summer of 2009 my spouse and I stayed in hotel in London that had a lifecycle bicycle similar to the one I purchased. I found that indoor trainer to provide a good workout with flexibility based on the parameters that I set. Since purchasing the bicycle in the fall of 2009 I have continued to be happy with the exercise results achieved.
I am 68 years old and continue to enjoy the daily workout and the challenges I set for myself each day when I ride inside.

My Life Fitness Elliptical Story

Monday, December 3, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

I had used Life Fitness products at the local gym for over 10 years. I purchased an X5 elliptical for home use several years ago.
Maintaining health is the major motivation to use the elliptical. I have been using it at least 2 or 3 times per week since I have had it. Exercise is an important part of my life. I never knew so many miles had been accumulated on the machine until this promotion prompted me to look up the miles. I think going over 5000 miles is quite an accomplishment. The machine has worked without needing any repairs throughout this period. I hope to get many more years and miles of service from the machine. One of the best purchases I have made. I know it was a good investment in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

My Life Saver

Monday, December 3, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

I remember always being made fun of because of my weight, even as young as kindergarden. In high school my weight went to over 300lbs and I wore a size 52. Then one day something just happened. I followed my own diet of 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day and started to exercise. It took me about a year and a half to lose 150lbs. I stayed at that point for a year. Then I started to lift weights and increase my cardio. I went from a size 12 to a size 6. I have maintained my weight loss for over 25 years. However after a few years, my back and my knees could no longer take the pound of the great outdoors. My Life Fitness Treadmill has saved my life! It is so much more comfortable for my body to use my treadmill. I know that I need to do cardio at least 6 days a week for 90 min. in order to maintain my weight. This would not be possible without my treadmill. Thank you Life Fitness.

The Refreshing Gain that comes after the Pain!

Sunday, December 2, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

I am a 77 year old male who has made a commitment to spend at least 35 minute sessions on my Life Fitness Cross-Trainer, three times or more per week while sustaining an average heart rate of 140 to 142. I have continued this regimen for the past five months and as a result have reduced my weight from 178 to 169, and my pants size from 38 to 34. My doctor has exclaimed me to be in perfect health, and my blood pressure and pulse are slightly below normal for my weight and age. BUT, ....THE BEST PART, and the primary motivator for me to endure the 35 minute workout is the UPLIFTING AND REFRESHING "HIGH" I feel after I come out of the shower following each workout!! My "cool down" after each 35 minute workout is usually to lay in the Arizona sun in my back yard for 30 min. to "dry off" before showering.

I must confess I do not enjoy my 35 min "ride" and I set several intermediate goals to keep me going. When i reach 12 minutes I consider I have surpassed the mental/psychological barrier (wanting to quit), and then I target for 18 minutes which tells me I'm over 1/2 done, and then for 26 minutes which tells me I'm only 4 minutes from my 5-minute cool-down,......(which I usually maintain at the same speed & resistance.) BUT CONTINUING TO REMIND MYSELF OF HOW GOOD I WILL FEEL AFTERWARD, HELPS ME TO NOT GIVE IN TO MY BODY'S DESIRE TO STOP!

One User's Motivation

Saturday, December 1, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

As my wife and I moved into our forties, we found our time for exercise via sports and outside activities diminishing. At the same time, we recognized our need to be active would only increase as we grew older. It was a vital ingredient in our future quality of life.

We identified the best of the local fitness equipment suppliers, focusing on those catering to professional users. We did not want equipment designed for consumers who would rarely use their new equipment.

At the dealer, we narrowed our choice to a recumbent bike. After trying out a couple of brands, the Lifefitness R9i stood out from the rest. It was a solid commercial unit with a variety of training programs. Over the years, it has proved to a be wise choice.

Can't Keep Me Down

Saturday, December 1, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

I am a soon-to-be 56 year old grandmother who has been exercising for a long time. I exercise 5 to 6 days a week because it just makes me feel better & helps me to stay healthy. I prefer exercising at home because I can do it whenever I have the time, in my Pjs if I want, & I don’t have to worry about what the weather is like outside.
I have never been able to afford to spend much money on exercise equipment. Prior to my Life Fitness machine, I bought a few pieces of exercise equipment at garage sales, that were used by the previous owners as clothes racks. I took the used equipment home, used it the best I could for a short while, and then eventually watched it break down and become worthless. I had a used elliptical machine that had broken down, and I was looking for another one. My husband and I accidentally happened on a Life Fitness store and decided to stop and take a look. The salesman was very nice & let me try every elliptical machine that I wanted. I loved them all, until he told me the prices. I wanted the elliptical very badly, but just didn’t think I could afford it. He told me that If I could splurge & buy the machine, that I would never regret it, and it would last me for many years. I took his advice, juggled a few household bills, and managed to get an X1 elliptical cross trainer.

I have never regretted it. It is by far the best piece of equipment I have ever owned, and I love it!! I used the equipment every day, and my muscles got very strong. Little did I know that 6 months after my purchase, I would be diagnosed with breast cancer. I was told that I was better able to fight the cancer because I had been exercising and was in good shape. While I was recovering, I would go to my elliptical machine everyday and get on it--even if it was for 5 minutes at a time. I kept working my way up until I was back in shape again. Since that time I have run in several breast cancer runs (I’m not really a runner). I placed 5th & 6th among the breast cancer survivors. I also ran a half memorial marathon in 2010 in 2 hrs. & 15 mins.

To my dismay, in September of this year I was diagnosed with cancer of the rectum. I had surgery in October of 2012, and I am now cancer free again. After my surgery, I couldn’t even sit very well, but I could stand on my elliptical machine. This time I started out with 2 minutes at a time and worked my way up. I can now use the machine for 40 minutes! My quick recovery is much due to the fact that I was in good physical condition. I am not happy about the fact that I will probably be on cancer drugs for the rest of my life, but the important thing is I have my Life, and my Life Fitness elliptical machine has played a part in helping me keep it. For that I will be forever grateful.

For my health

Saturday, December 1, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

I have used my Lifecycle and always enjoyed working out but could never seem to stay consistent. I would always let taking a few days off turn into weeks then into months. Last year my blood pressure got worse and my diabetes was not improving. This was the motivation I needed. Over the last year, I have lost 75 lbs but most importantly at my last doctors visit we discussed stopping my medications for both my high blood pressure and type II diabetes. I want to be conservative but I am now on a very low dose and intend to stop both medications within the next six months. Truly improving my health is a great motivator. I have made my workouts a regular part of my routine. I get anxious if for some reason I go more than two days without a ride. I have seen such incredible results by staying consistent. I truly love the feedback my Lifecycle provides. I always feel challenged and want to push myself harder. Whenever I read about what is the best overall training for weight loss, interval training always comes up as the answer. The interval program has helped to give me the incredible results I have achieved.

Iron Horse

Saturday, December 1, 2012 by Life Fitness Mileage Club Member

The Life Fitness Elliptical Cross-Trainer has changed my life. Over one year and 103 pounds ago, my cholesterol was abnormally high, and my energy level was understandably low. I wanted to change. After a bit of research, I began working out on the Life Fitness X3 Elliptical. Although we bought it in 2007, it was used very little until July, 2011. I began a daily routine of working out for an hour, immediately when I got home from work, 6-7 days per week, and did my best to keep my daily calorie intake at 1500 calories. In January 2012, I felt so good, I increased my workout to 2 hours each day, including an hour before work.

The X3 is easy on my knees, has a smooth glide, and is so quiet I can listen to music or the tv with the volume on low. It’s impressively sturdy, and I like the Polar Heart Rate Belt. The Programmable Display has been a great motivator for me – it shows how fast you are going, how many miles you’ve gone, and how many hills and valleys you have left to climb. The settings can be programmed so you can have more than one custom workout saved. It has a great Quick Start feature so you can be going within seconds. I just wish I hadn’t waited so long to get started. I’m happy to say, that in fifteen months, I’ve lost over 100 pounds, my cholesterol is 71 points lower, my blood pressure is 19 points lower to within the normal range, and I have reached my goal weight. I’m now using the X3 to maintain my weight loss, and would really love to add a Life Fitness stationary bike sometime. When my doctor asked how I’d managed to finally lower my cholesterol, my weight, and improve my overall fitness, I explained my exercise routine on my Life Fitness X3. I’ve nicknamed it the Iron Horse. It’s still going strong, and hopefully so am I.
